The pandemic did not dampen Align Technology’s employees spirit to do good. The Smiles@Align team in Singapore, an employee resource group focused on community goodness, pivoted all their CSR activities from in-person to online during 2021 when it was not possible to meet in. The Smiles@Align team conducted a series of virtual dental care workshops for the Down Syndrome Association (DSA) as part of their “Independent Living Training” (ILT) Program. Care packs were also put together and delivered to DSA for distribution to the participants. During the June school holidays, Align employees in Singapore participated in a virtual “Cheer for Them” campaign by creating artwork with their children which were then delivered to frontline workers. The “Cheer for Them” campaign is a nationwide movement to show gratitude towards frontline workers in the healthcare and other essential services industries. Additionally, the Smiles@Align team rallied Singapore employees in a virtual race to fundraise, where employees participated in a voting campaign on which NGOs they wanted the donations to go to.
