At West, our purpose is to improve patient lives. To achieve this, we consider our broader corporate responsibilities to a range of stakeholders, from our end users to communities in which we operate.
Our corporate sustainability strategies are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In Singapore, West has a long tradition of community involvement. In the past 12 years, West without Borders, our employee-led giving program, has made positive impact through financial support and volunteerism.
Throughout the pandemic, West Singapore has contributed to social causes such as Children’s Cancer Foundation and Food from the Heart. In 2022, West matched employee donations to Singapore Food Bank at a 1:1 ratio, with more than S$11,000 donated in total. We continue to enhance our Corporate Responsibility strategy and have begun to evolve it into an overarching Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.
With the belief that building a more diverse team, prioritizing product quality, operating with integrity, giving back to our communities, managing our environmental footprint and building a culture of safety will deliver even greater impact, our ESG goals are guided by six key areas: Responsible Supply Chain; Talent Attraction; Retention and Engagement; Waste in Operational Processes; R&D for the Environment; and Climate Strategy.
