Carmel Samimi leads the Legal and compliance function for the AMEA region, including M&A, Compliance, Anti-trust, expansion into greenfield sites, company secretarial duties, management of the three Joint Ventures in the region, and responsible for executing complex business strategy and intricate legal work for global Executive Committee.

In her current role, Carmel is responsible for a team of 25 lawyers based in 12 regional offices across AMEA.

Carmel joined the AMEA region in 2023 from the United Kingdom where she held the role of Legal Director for the UK and Ireland business and supported the crisis management and litigation for Kellogg Europe.

Carmel begun her career in the Africa region and progressed through a number of senior legal roles initially within a law firm, and then in-house legal at Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Reckitt Benckiser. Prior to joining Kellogg, Carmel gained experience in MENAT, Africa and Europe across Consumer Packaged Good companies leading their commercial legal strategy, compliance, litigation, M&A and crisis management.

Carmel is an admitted attorney of the High Court. She has a Master of Laws in Tax and Corporate Commercial Transactions from the University of Pretoria, and was awarded the recognition of Africa's Top 100 Most Influential Young Leaders in 2019.

She is passionate about ED&I and supporting children to achieve their potential through access to education.

Carmel is based in Singapore with her husband and 2 sons.
