Volunteering in Singapore achieved an all-time high in FY24. 57.1% of our employees volunteered at least once last year. Total volunteering hours for Singapore was 18,092 hours focusing on 3 segments – the elderly, persons with disability and low-income households. Some highlights listed below:
• HP works with NKF to support them in the packing of medical supplies used by patients undergoing dialysis, and to befriend patients who are undergoing treatment. We are in talks with NKF to expand our partnership.
• Quarterly events with the Special Olympics Singapore (SOSG) – which was introduced by AmCham (Thanks, Jessica!). We have sessions planned for our HP employees to run with the SOSG athletes at the Singapore Sports Hub @ Kallang. More volunteering opportunities in other sports are on offer in 2025 (such as Badminton).
• With HP’s considerable donation ($300k) raised from the HP annual charity show and Imagine Grant funds, we’re fortunate to be invited to key ComChest event such as the Habuan Harapan (Gift of Hope) groceries packing event. These are employee favourite events and volunteering slots get filled quickly.
• Our monthly grocery packing sessions at the Food From The Heart warehouse continue to enjoy strong volunteer support. HP also sends hundreds of volunteers to support their annual Toy Buffet events where we get to accompany a child from low-income household for a day of fun and games as they go about to pick their toys home.
