In Singapore, critical gaps in HCV screening and access to care have hindered HCV elimination progress. To support the Govern’t in achieving WHO elimination goals and to position Singapore as the first country in Asia to achieve this, Gilead collaborates with many stakeholders in this journey.

– HCSA Test and Treat: Since 2022, Gilead has supported HCSA to provide HCV screening to over 470 at-risk populations with grants (35% tested +ve). Partnerships with NUS and Tzu Chi Foundation have enhanced linkage-to-care.

– HCV Elimination Symposium: In Nov 2022, Gilead and NUS hosted 80 experts from US, Taiwan, and Aust. to share successful strategies. Speakers like Dr. John Ward and Prof. Chien-jen Chen emphasized adapting global practices to local context.

– HCV Steering Committee: From Mar to Jun 2023, Gilead helped establish the HCV Steering Committee, uniting public health leaders and NGOs to develop a micro-elimination model focusing on incarcerated individuals and PWID, culminating in a whitepaper submitted to Govern’t in Jul.

– Singapore HCV Elimination Closed-Door Roundtable: In Jul 2023, Gilead presented innovative approaches at the Roundtable, fostering discussions with stakeholders, including Prof. Vernon Lee and Dr. Noorul Fatha.

– Access to Care: Gilead co-authored a policy memo in Nov 2023, advocating for a national strategy. This prompted MOH to form a HCV task force. Gilead also adjusted pricing to include HCV medication in the Standard Drug List to improve access.
