In a fast-paced world where educational institutions around the globe are striving to refine their pedagogy to adapt to the changing learners’ landscape and to future-proof their students, one program has for more than a decade transformed the educational experience for teachers and students alike.
STEP (Student/Teacher Emergenetics Program), which leverages the principles of Emergenetics – research grounded in psychology, education and neuroscience that reveals an individual’s thinking and behavioral preferences, has helped schools in the United States deliver sustainable learning outcomes and connect individual passion with collective performance. Its success includes a district-wide roll out across Colorado’s third largest school district with more than 4,000 staff members trained in STEP since 2012 and is currently part of the district’s strategy for World Class Education.
Because of its systematic, holistic and learner-centric approach, STEP was reported to have a positive impact on staff productivity and efficiency, learner’s experience and motivation, and in developing a culture of mutual appreciation and respect.
Come hear first-hand what STEP is, how it helped a failing school go from “Improvement Required” to “Met Standard with Distinction in Academic Achievement”, experiences and lessons learnt from implementing an innovative educational approach within a school to sustaining its impact across a whole district from Marie Unger, who has been instrumental in the long-term success of STEP.
