The digital economy in Southeast Asia holds immense untapped potential. A number of factors are at play; a growing middle class, a significant population of youth, increasing digital penetration and the widespread influence of social media has led to a surge in new businesses seeking to take advantage the opportunities in this region. However, a rise in new businesses also means a rise in competition. To stay ahead of the curve, companies must develop a deeper understanding of this burgeoning consumer base and adapt their business models to the latest (and ever-changing) consumer behaviours.
Bain & Company and Facebook conducted a survey on the spending behaviour of Southeast Asian digital consumers (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) and interviews with senior executives of companies involved in the digital commerce ecosystem. The resulting report presents the key findings from the survey, along with insights on the developing digital landscape.
Join us at AmCham as Bain & Company and Facebook jointly present on the findings of the report. Following the presentations, a panel of experts will discuss the deeper implications of this report and how businesses can strategically take advantage of the explosive growth of the digital economy.
