At Corning Singapore, our holistic approach to corporate social responsibility balances activities based on 3 pillars of “Giving” (supporting our community), “Being” (promoting wellness), and “Sustaining” (protecting our environment) to make positive and meaningful differences.
In 2022, we partnered with the Northwest Community Development Council (NWCDC) to identify meaningful support for the less privileged in the community. We supported the North West CDC Student Support Fund which aims to provide upstream education and developmental programs to increase social mobility of less privileged students. With DigiReady@North West, we donated used laptops and new accessories to support vulnerable residents to enable digital readiness. We also supported Exam ready @ Woodlands by procuring snacks and stationary care packs to provide motivational support for students taking their Primary School Leaving Examination.
We continued with our Corning Wellness challenge where employees chose a series of activities that they could participate either on their own or with fellow colleagues. These activities could be sports, art or cultural to meet different individual interests.
In celebration of the International Year of Glass, our employees took efforts to recycle used glass bottles which were then converted into small art pieces that employees used to create glass art pieces in a glass art activity. These art pieces were than auctioned internal to raise funds for support to the community.
