Dow’s 2024 CSR programs focus on promoting STEM education, supporting underprivileged communities, and sustainability initiatives. Last year, we impacted around 2,600 low-income beneficiaries and inspired over 500 students from institutes of higher learning.
Our collaboration with Yong-en Care Centre addresses food insecurity by packing and distributing food to 140 low-income families in the Chinatown area. Additionally, we support Yong-en dementia care through music therapy sessions. We have also partnered with Habitat for Humanity to refurbish the homes of the needy and overseas house builds in Batam. Dow employees have contributed nearly 1,000 volunteer hours toward these efforts.
As a materials science company, we have worked with and engaged over 500 students from higher education institutions and academia. We aim to inspire them with the potential of the chemical industry and challenge them to develop solutions for real-world problems through STEM workshops.
As part of the effort to reduce plastic waste in the environment, we have also organized clean-up activities at beaches and parks.
