Manraj S. Sekhon is the Chief Investment Officer of Templeton Global Investments, CEO of Templeton Asset Management and a Member of the Global Executive Committee of Franklin Templeton. Based in Singapore, he oversees over 100 investment professionals in 20 countries and the full suite of Global, Asia and Emerging Markets equity strategies offered by the group, covering global, regional, single-country, small cap, frontier and private equity.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2018, Mr. Sekhon served as the Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of Fullerton Fund Management, the asset management subsidiary of Temasek. Before this, Manraj occupied various roles in London at Mercury Asset Management (now BlackRock), Invesco Asset Management and Henderson Global Investors.
Manraj has over 30 years of global investment experience managing portfolios on behalf of pension plans, sovereign wealth, endowments, insurance, family offices and private wealth. He previously won the ‘Best Fund Manager’ award from Professional Adviser and was also ranked in both the ‘Citywire Top 100 Fund Managers’ and the ‘Professional Adviser Hot 100 Fund Managers’.
Manraj graduated from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Management Sciences and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He sits as an Advisory Board member to the UK Department for International Trade, a Council member for the Singapore-India Business Roundtable and an Advisor to the Investment Committee of the Singapore Management University (SMU). He also serves as a Board Director of the Singapore Repertory Theatre and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
