Nilesh Shah is the Head of Region, APAC at Illumina and is based in Singapore. He joined Illumina in August 2025, where he is responsible for leading the company’s commercial strategy, business operations, and market expansion
across the APAC region.
Nilesh has over 25 years of leadership experience in the medical technology and
life sciences industries, having held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare and most recently, West Pharmaceutical Services. At West, he served as Vice President & General Manager, Emerging Markets, where he led commercial, operational, and manufacturing strategies spanning Asia-Pacific and Latin America. During his tenure, he drove regional transformation, enhanced customer engagement, and delivered strong growth through a more aligned and agile
operating model.
Throughout his career, Nilesh has lived and worked across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, bringing a truly global perspective to business leadership. He holds a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from The Ohio State University.
