Marshall first joined Marsh as Asia Pacific Head of Strategy in 2014 where he was responsible for developing the regional strategy as well as cascading regional priorities down to countries, segments or products (EH&B, Segmentation, Claims, etc.). His mandate also included M&A where he facilitated target identification and deal negotiation, due diligence and execution.

In 2016, Marshall took over the role of Chief Operating Officer for Marsh Asia overseeing the region’s operations and technology functions. As the COO, Marshall conducted a deep dive review of the region’s operating model and alignment to best practices and models elsewhere in Marsh. The work contributed to a global operational transformation program covering segregation of duty, process re-engineering, IT platforms, and data management. Over the following 6 years, Marshall built up the operations team from 200 to over 1,000, including new Centre of Excellence in KL, Malaysia and Tianjin, China. He also kicked off major process reengineering and automation efforts covering all aspects of the broking cycle.

After six years as the COO, Marshall was appointed the Head of Climate & Sustainability Strategy for Marsh Asia in August of 2022, and then later in 2023, the same role for Marsh McLennan Companies. In this role, Marshall is responsible for driving Marsh McLennan’s efforts on sustainability across its multiple dimensions not just by implementing the initiatives within the firm’s own operations, but more significantly by enabling clients to recognize and address climate change, environmental, social, governance and other sustainability challenges.

Prior to joining Marsh, Marshall at Standard Chartered Bank’s Group Strategy team where he led a number of key growth initiatives, including country strategy development and deep dives for China, Taiwan, and ASEAN, as well as on specific topics such as Emerging Payment Technologies and Wealth Management.

Before Standard Chartered, Marshall spent majority of his professional career in consulting – starting with Andersen Consulting in 1995 before going back to business school. He moved to Singapore in 2007 to join Marakon Associates - a strategy consulting firm.

Marshall graduating from Columbia School of Engineering with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2022 and subsequently obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
