Marina Bay Sands’ commitment to Singapore extends beyond supporting the country’s economic and tourism goals. Through its community engagement programme, Sands Cares, the integrated resort (IR) uses unique property offerings, philanthropic funding and active volunteerism to help strengthen the social fabric of Singapore, leaving a positive impact in the community.

Sands Cares focuses on four key pillars:

i) investing in ideas and solutions to create resiliency for people in need;
ii) nurturing the workforce of tomorrow through learning and mentorship;
iii) promoting and celebrating art and culture through the IR’s cultural philanthropy and unique resources;
iv) supporting and equipping communities to cope in disasters.

With an employee population of over 10,000 in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands’ Team Members have contributed close to 92,000 volunteer hours since opening in 2010.

Marina Bay Sands also has a dedicated week to giving back to the community through Sands for Singapore Charity Festival, the IR’s signature multi-day festival that was incepted in 2013.

Through a series of meaningful events at different facets of the IR – from the mall and restaurants to the convention centre and Museum – the festival has increased public awareness of Marina Bay Sands’ partner charities and raised funds for them.
