In Singapore, our Employee Resource Groups are ground-up initiatives led by like-minded employees across various departments.
They unite all our Singapore-based employees, driving year-round initiatives that build engagement, excitement and give back to the community. More than 20 initiatives were organized by ERGs last year.
The CARES (Children, Animals, Recycling, Education, and Seniors) Committee helps year-round volunteering and community-impact initiatives like: -Matched Giving: Medtronic matches employee donations dollar for dollar, up to US$5,000. -Volunteer Grants: When employees record their volunteer hours for beneficiaries, they earn $200 dollars for every 10 hours, up to 50 hours. -Project 6: Tenet 6 of our Medtronic Mission states “Maintain good citizenship as a company”. In alignment to Tenet 6, June is known as ‘Project 6 month,’ where employees participate in volunteering activities.
In 2022, 150 Singapore volunteers spent nearly 400 hours to support 5 beneficiaries through 17 activities – including delivering more than 460 meals to those who are homebound and hosting virtual singalongs for underprivileged children. -Fundraising: The 2022 Christmas Fundraising raised $7,000 for underprivileged children through granting their back-to-school wishes, as well as dollar-matching program for walkathon challenge. -Workshops: Workshops to raise awareness on environmental issues are done for employees to learn how they can do their part for Earth.
