Seagate implements CSR initiatives with widespread impact each year, the key themes underpinning which are: Helping Those in Need, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Awareness, and Environment. Highlights of Singapore’s CSR efforts in 2025 include:
1. Circularity Program - ongoing
- transforms the linear “use-and-dispose” model into a secure, scalable cycle of reuse through certified data sanitization, including Project Gerbera, recognized by the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA)
- last year, the program returned 1.52 million hard-disk drives and solid-state drives to service, preventing ~700 metric tons of e‑waste
- Supported by Seagate’s Mozaic technology, a 90% landfill diversion rate, and partnerships with A*STAR and the Circular Drive Initiative, the program proved data security and sustainability can scale together—delivering long‑term value for both the company and the environment
2. Take Our Children to Work Day - September 2025
- Employees’ children assembled solar lamps for local needy children
- Boosted employee engagement while teaching youths to volunteer for the community
3. Earth Day - April 2025
- Interactive activities on eco-friendliness including Earth Hour and tree planting
- Partnered NPO Greensquare to collect and donate nearly 500kg of preloved textiles
4. Quarterly vegetable donations - March, August & November 2025
- Donated over 400kg of fresh greens from Seagate Sky Garden
- Benefitted roughly 500 seniors across nursing homes
