SHEIN’s sustainability and social impact strategy, evoluSHEIN, focuses on empowering communities that SHEIN impacts through our business activities and operations. Our key social impact areas include: (1) empowering entrepreneurs and designers, (2) promoting gender equality, (3) supporting youth development, and (4) alleviating poverty among underprivileged communities.

Key Initiatives in Singapore:

Empowering Designers and Women: 2024 was the second year that SHEIN mentored final-year students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, who were asked to design collections to celebrate and empower women supported by SHEIN’s social impact partners, Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) and Dress for Success Singapore (DFSS). With guidance from BCF, DFSS and SHEIN, the students designed 2 capsule collections focused on celebrating the courage and resilience of breast cancer survivors and promoting breast cancer awareness (for BCF), and to provide professional yet affordable outfits for underprivileged women seeking economic independence (for DFSS). 4 outfits were shortlisted for commercial production under the SHEIN X initiative and modelled by 8 breast cancer survivors in a runway show.

Inspiring Women & Youth: In its third year, SHEIN’s partnership with SG Her Empowerment supported the launch of the 2024 Women in Leadership Report. Together, we also organised 3 workshops for young women from diverse backgrounds, covering body positivity, personal branding, and leadership.
