Citi is committed to making a positive difference to the underserved in society. In 2021, Citi Singapore supported various community partners through charitable contributions & employee fundraising, volunteerism, as well as social impact programs funded by Citi Foundation. Despite the restrictions due to the pandemic, we mobilised more than 1,200 Citi volunteers and raised over S$467,000 for the social service sector. Since 2002, Citi has made over S$23 million worth of social investments in Singapore through Citi Foundation grants, partnering universities and community organisations on the focus areas of financial inclusion and enabling youth economic opportunities. Through these programmes, we have trained over 13,000 teachers, 1,400 social workers, and 500 tertiary students in financial literacy, benefited more than 340,000 students, 40,000 tertiary young adults, and 6,000 mature women, and mobilised over 170,000 volunteers for the social service sectors.
In 2021, Citi Singapore was conferred as a Champion of Good by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), and it also received the AmCham CARES Distinction Award and the People's Association Community Spirit (PACS) Partnership Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to the community. Citi Singapore was given the OpenGov Recognition of Excellence 2019 Award for implementing green initiatives that combat climate change and contribute to Singapore's Sustainable Future goals. Citi Singapore was the sole recipient of the prestigious 2018 President's Award for Volunteerism & Philanthropy (Corporate, Large Enterprise category) – the highest national honor for organisations that have set benchmarks of excellence in the spirit of giving.
