It has been a challenging time, especially for those in the frontline fighting the coronavirus outbreak. China has taken strong measures to stop the spread of the virus and we are confident of its ability to fight this disease. The business communities in Singapore and China enjoy a long-standing relationship that extends beyond trade.
AmCham Singapore is working closely with SBF and the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) to raise funds in support of communities in China that have been affected or are at risk of being affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak. We are appealing to all members and your respective organizations, to support this effort and send all contributions to SBF for consolidation as soon as possible.
Use of Funds
The funds raised and coordinated by SBF will be utilized by SRC in phases. As announced by SRC, the first phase of funding will be used to purchase medical supplies, protective gear and testing kits for hospitals in Wuhan. The second phase will be triggered after the situation has stabilized, with the funds used to provide support for healthcare and rehabilitation efforts in China. This will be done in partnership with Chinese authorities and charitable organizations, and not simply channeled to China Red Cross. Your contributions and that of your members are important in aiding SRC’s work as the outbreak continues to spread in China.
Payment Modes
If you’d like to make a donation, kindly send a cheque, payable to “Singapore Red Cross Society”, and indicate “Coronavirus Response 2020”, along with your name, company’s name and contact details, on the back of the cheque and pass it to SBF in any of the following two ways:
