It is the era of instant and endless information at your fingertips. People are able to share information on a variety of platforms, despite not being formally connected. However, these digital opportunities can quickly turn to setbacks. For businesses with an online presence, a bad or negative review has the potential to reach a much wider audience and can have a deep reputational and financial impact on a business.

A thriving ecosystem of cybersecurity products, services, and strategies fueled by a growing awareness of the damages and liabilities arising from cyber breaches are increasingly dominating C-Suite and Boardroom conversations around enterprise risk. In July 2019, AmCham conducted an online survey of its members to better understand how cybersecurity is affecting businesses in Singapore.
The US-China Trade War: Surveys of AmCham Singapore Members
As part of a protectionist trade policy aimed at reviving the U.S. domestic industry, the announcements of tariffs by the Trump Administration have led to trade-related tensions in what has come to be down as the ‘U.S.-China Trade War’. Aiming to understand the sentiments of businesses towards this Trade War, AmCham has conducted two surveys of its members in September 2018 and again in May 2019.

In light of the Hong Kong (HK) protests, AmCham conducted a survey from 21st to 29th August 2019 to ascertain businesses’ attitudes towards the ongoing situation in HK. A total of 120 responses were collected from a diverse industry pool.

In May 2019, AmCham organized an interactive workshop on ‘Employee Resource Groups – From Social Networks to Think Tanks’ with a focus on the best practices around Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). The workshop began with a Fireside Chat, followed by smaller breakout sessions. These breakout clusters discussed typical barriers that ERGs face and potential solutions to those barriers, which have been summarized in this report prepared by our Knowledge Partner, INSEAD.
