AmCham Cares

AmCham CARES recognizes AmCham member companies in Singapore that have demonstrated a strong understanding of the link between responsible business operations and positive societal impact, and that conduct business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value for Singapore. The program is a platform to benchmark, and share best practices, as well as encourage member companies to improve their current corporate social responsibility programs.

2019 AmCham CARES Awards Ceremony

We were honored to host Her Excellency Mdm Halimah Yacob, President of Singapore as the guest-of-honor to recognize the 2019 AmCham CARES Awards recipients. The awards ceremony was part of our 46th Annual General Meeting on April 26th. To learn more about the Award Ceremony, please see press coverage here.

The awards submissions survey are tabulated by the AmCham Social Impact Taskforce. In 2019, CSR programs were assessed on four main factors – communications, measurement, strategy, and sustainability. If you would like to explore ways that your company can participate next year, please contact Tabitha Goh.

Objectives of AmCham CARES Award

AmCham CARES is not a competition. It requires companies to meet certain criteria with their pre-existing CSR programs. AmCham CARES is a great way to benchmark, share best practices, and look at ways to improve companies’ current CSR programs. The aims of the AmCham CARES Awards are to:

Raises awareness of CSR and corporate citizenship among AmCham members;
Recognizes firms with best practice programs;
Gathers information about best practices to share with all AmCham members; and
Demonstrates continued AmCham leadership among chambers in Singapore.

2019 AmCham CARES Awards

In 2019, 64 companies were recognized and honored at the AmCham 46th Annual General Meeting on April 26, 2019. The award was presented by Her Excellency Mdm Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore. To view the full list of 2019 AmCham CARES recipients and som their CSR stories, click here.

AmCham Singapore aims to raise awareness of corporate social responsibility (CSR) among members as one of the most active business chambers in Singapore. The AmCham CARES program recognizes member companies in Singapore that have demonstrated a strong understanding of the link between responsible business operations and positive societal impact, and that conduct business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value for Singapore.

A platform to benchmark and share best practices, AmCham CARES encourages member companies to improve their current CSR programs. These programs are assessed on four main factors – communications, measurement, strategy, and sustainability.

In recent years, we were honored to host Mdm Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore, and Minister Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and former Minister for Education, as the guests-of-honor to recognize the AmCham CARES Awards recipients during our Annual General Meeting.

In 2022, Minister Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education was our guest of hour for the award ceremony.

To date, we have awarded over 300 certificates of recognition to AmCham member companies for their outstanding corporate citizenship.
Our Charity Partners
AmCham Local Charity Partnership
AmCham’s Local Charity Partnership Program highlights small local charities to our members who are looking at different ways to support worthy causes in Singapore and those in our community who need a helping hand. Singapore is our home and we are committed to work toward a more inclusive future for all.
BMDP
AmCham Local Charity Partnership Program
Since 1993, the Bone Marrow Donor Programme has been providing a chance of survival to hundreds of patients suffering from terminal blood-related diseases, in the form of a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated marrow donor.

BMDP manages Singapore’s only register of volunteer bone marrow donors and with a slim chance of finding that perfect matched donor, we are fully committed to building the local donor register into a national asset to help all Singaporeans have that second chance at life.

What we do at BMDP directly impacts life and death, hence our promise of “A donor for every patient”. We reach out to all sectors within our community to share this message and empower people with the choice to save a life. Knowledge may be all it takes to give patients with blood-disease a chance at tomorrow.
